As a hybrid I could have a mate to match my wolf and a beloved for my vampire. After many years of finding neither I lost all hope and became a recluse until a little shewolf scratched her way into my dilapidated house. The moment I caught her scent I knew she was both my mate and my beloved.
***
Everyone of my family members had managed to find and have their happily ever after. Everyone but me that is. My name is Liam Madison. I am a Hybrid; half vampire and half werewolf. I watched as one by one my siblings found their mate or their beloved as the case was.
Even my own mother had both a wolf mate and a beloved and had a happily ever after with both. I however never seemed to connect with either. Finally after being alone for so long I was driven to depression and the inability to socialize with my loved one any longer. I moved away from home to a place I believed no one would ever come looking for me.
I was immortal and incapable of dying. I was even more indestructible then a regular vampire. While there are relatively few ways to kill a vampire such as beheading, removing their heart or poisoning them with werewolf blood, I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I can not die by any of those methods.
I came to Miami with one goal in mind, to find a way to put my mind to rest for a long time. I chose the house in the middle of no where with the intention of sitting in a chair and not moving for many years to come. I had a theory that if I failed to eat or drink eventually I would become lethargic and fall into a comatose state.
I'm not sure how long I had been sitting in the chair when I started to hear scratching at the back door. It sounded like a wild animal ripping its way through the rotted old wood that hung poorly over the back entrance.
Then I heard long nails scrape over the old ceramic tiles that coated the shabby little kitchen area. The I caught a whiff of her lavender and cherry blossom scent. I felt my soul begin to tingle and my wolf sparked to life within me as both my soul and my wolf said in unison MINE.

I can deal with bad grammar and very little punctuation in most cases but in this book it's so bad that it almost makes the book unreadable. There are also numerous places were the wrong words are used.Example: My mate was powerful and dam near invisible he would want pups lots of them.
I could have gotten over even this but the conversations were stilted and for lack of a better word jumpy. I stopped trying to read it after about 15 minutes. The author could make good use of some editing software. The story had a good concept and if it was significantly cleaned up I would have no problem trying to read the story again.

Beloved Mine A Blood Ties Novel eBook Kalalea George Reviews
I think the plot of this could have been good. Unfortunately I could not finish the book so I don't know how well it progressed, but it had potential. The main problem here is that this story was in dire need of an editor. I don't mean a proofreader (though that would have helped also because there are a lot of spelling errors, typos, and problems with sentence structure) but someone to read this and explain to the author that some of the things in here just made no sense.
The male in this story is a hybrid vampire/werewolf that is supposed to be stronger than plain old vampires or plain old werewolves. OK...so far so good. However....Apparently werewolf blood is lethal to a vampire so how did they mate in the first place to create these hybrids? You can't tell me a vampire never wanted to bite their "beloved".
There are some other kind of far fetched things like the fact that these hybrids can reach out and put their severed heads back on and not die from beheading and can also regrow their hearts if they are removed. Eye rolling weird, but hey...this is what is in this author's world so these things I can roll with.
Here is where I began to give up the fight to finish this story....
Liam (the male vampire/werewolf hybrid) had given up trying to find his mate and decided since he can't die he will just go somewhere outside of civilization, sit in a chair and not eat/feed, and then hopefully slip into oblivion. I have no problem with that idea. His mate breaking into his home to get away from hunters brings him out of his funk over 200 years after he sat in his chair. Meaning he had been there since the early 1800's. In this 200 year span, his family apparently kept up his house so it didn't fall apart around him, but here are my issues....
His family might have "kept the house standing", but had no reason to bring in new bedding and he had been undisturbed in his chair. There is nothing written about his lack of clothing or outdated styles. He puts Keara on a mattress that smells bad but most likely should have fallen apart by then given what they were made out of 200 years ago.
Liam had short cropped hair? When would he have gotten it cut? 200 years of hair growth should have been pretty long. Even if it hadn't grown any since he sat down, the style of his time period was not short cropped hair.
He has been out for 200 years and he instantly thinks about CALLING his sister? How does he know about phones? Why does he even have one? Especially a cell phone.
He offers Keara the "shower" first. How does he have a shower in a house that is over 200 years old much less know what one is? He stocks said shower with "all the common toiletries she would need" REALLY? How did he do that? WHEN did he do that? She just got there IN WOLF FORM so she didn't have anything with her. He has been sitting in a chair for 200 years(not expecting guests), he hasn't left the house, and OH...he shouldn't have a shower much less toiletries(toothbrush, toothpaste, FLOSS, deodorant, a hairbrush, and apparently a pony tail holder), functional towels, electricity, hot water, or most likely even indoor plumbing.
He goes to get a rental car. How does he know how to drive a car,....or even know what one is much less where to get one? The man has no insurance, credit card, driver's license, or anything yet they just hand him a car. Where did he get money to pay for it? Only after all of this does the author remember he can't drive it. My point is, he shouldn't have even known it was an option. Unless this is set way in the future(which there is no indication it is) he couldn't have possibly driven any sort of car when he put himself into his hibernation. He would have been riding a horse!
He hasn't been around anyone to have conversations for over 200 years yet calls Keana "babe and baby" COME ON! Men in the 1800's did not call their women baby.
Some people might think I am being picky....well...I am. If I have to step out of a story so much because of things like this, then I am too annoyed to enjoy any storyline. An editor would have pointed these things out to an author and then perhaps she could have written in the generational issues as part of the plot. As is they just glare out there as bloopers. I stopped reading after the rental car debacle. These plot issues along with spelling errors, missing words, etc just brought me to a screeching halt.
I really liked the book but the grammar kind of made me mad it was just things that if you proof read it wouldn't be a problem just sayin but all in all I liked it
I love this story line this author has created. I loved the characters too. I hope their will be more.
This book was very good.Loved the story line and the characters. Can't wait to read more of her books. Way to go.
